“What do you do for fun?”

“You mean in my free time?”

“I don’t have free time.”

Does this response sound like you? With demands from work, from family, and even demands you put on yourself, you probably feel as if you have no time for fun.

But you do.

You may not have a full day available for fun but you have moments where you can sprinkle fun throughout your day.

There are 24 hours in a day. Backing out time for sleep, there’s 16 hours or 960 minutes remaining.

You can easily carve out a few minutes every day for fun, right?

Why do we need fun in life?  Maybe it’s for a smile or for a laugh. It’s for that fraction of time when nothing else matters other than that euphoric feeling of joy.

Fun can be a way to minimize stress which is always a good thing.

If you’re struggling to find free time for fun, here are some ideas that take little time. It’ll give you a chance to add a bit of fun to your hectic day.

1. Turn up your favorite song and dance like no one’s watching.

2. Add a smile to your face by watching a short YouTube of kittens or puppies.

3. Laugh out loud by reminiscing about a funny moment in your life.

4. Listen to a comedy podcast. (For long podcasts use the pause button when your time is limited and continue listening the next day.)

5. Use a filter on your smartphone to take a silly selfie.

6. Lighten your commute by tuning into a comedy station on satellite radio.

7. Read a comic strip. (Google “comic strips online” for website suggestions.)
