You can definitely tell when it’s the end of the year. Television commercials are constantly showing “lose weight now” ads …. or buy this fitness equipment to have an “incredible body.”

AND my social media feed is relentlessly filled with more of the same. But what I noticed new this year are no-gym home workouts “that really work” and require less time daily. Hmmmm

[frame_center src=”” href=””][lightbox type=”image” title=”” href=”” youtube_id=”” vimeo_id=””]I’m still enjoying my red velvet cake and champagne. Ugh! Don’t rush me! I’ll get there, but right now, I still want to enjoy the holidays.[/lightbox][/frame_center]

Do you feel the same way?

As I was scrolling through all these feeds, one no-gym home workout plan caught my eye. It combines a lot of exercises I already know how to do. I don’t have to look at a video to see how to do each exercise – which to me can be annoying.

It contains some exercises I do now but some I haven’t done in a while (e.g., butt kicks). More importantly, it’s easy to follow. It’s a one-pager listing cardio and strength training for Monday through Friday. I’ve printed it out and will begin … next week.

It’s not hard for me to motivate myself to workout. I realize I’m lucky in that regards. But I’ve been working out since I was in high school — and that was a long time ago! Staying fit helps me stay energized and ready to maximize life.

Even though I don’t need much motivation, I do enjoy changing up my routine. This one-page list is perfect to start the year.

Usually, in January I avoid the gym. It’s too crowded with many people anxious to start their New Year’s resolution. I’m happy for them, but I lose motivation if I have to wait to use equipment.

Are you trying anything new to kick-start your workout in 2018? Send me what works for you and what doesn’t work. Also, if you want to know how this 10-week no gym home workout is going for me, send me a message. Staying fit is part of living a healthy lifestyle which will save you healthcare expenses as you age.
